In 1887, the concept of the slot machine was invented by a mechanic who's name were Charles Fey. There were not many slot machines which were spread between different gambling institutions. The owner of slot machine had about a half of its profit. Most people consider that early slot machines were truly huge and heavy. In fact they have got nearly the same overall dimensions as slot machines today. Also, symbols were different back then; fruit images came out later as these entertainment machines started to branch out. Charles Fey were a successful businessman that earned great deals of money on his invention. The very first machine was named the “Liberty Bell.”. An increasing trend, Charles Fey was revolutionizing the local gambling industry with that primitive game.
In 1907, Charles Fey decided to become partners with the Mills Novelty Company to produce a row of modern slot machines. The first machine named the Mills Liberty Bell. After 3 years of successful cooperation Miles Company made a decision to develop a slot machine with fruit symbols. It was Operator Bell. The drawback of early slot machines was that they were made of iron and it was not so easy to transport it from one casino to the other. To resolve that complexity the first wood cabinet slot machine was designed by Mills Company.
